"This is my daughter, Mina! She is half Italian, half Vietnamese. Earlier this summer, I was searching for books with her name in it and came across your series. Since she was about to have her first birthday, I chose “My Birthday Cake”. She LOVES this book!! This is a picture of her reading her favorite page, she loves to sing happy birthday and clap at the end. She also loves to point at Mina’s daddy in the book and say dada! I can’t wait to buy her more of these books! I am so excited for my daughter to not only have books with her name in them, but also books representing the Asian American community. Thank you for creating these stories!"

"Growing up Taiwanese American, I had little exposure to books from authors like me. The stories I read were not diverse. I’ve been a fan of @minalearnschinese since her Kickstarter to launch this bilingual children’s book, which comes in both an English only version and a traditional Chinese version. I also have to admit, I am a major boba milk tea lover. To the point that my friends give me boba themed gifts for my birthday, or treat me to boba when I’m having a rough day. That’s why I’m so obsessed with this book, which combines an author from my same background and one of my favorite drinks! Also, the illustrations by @dhiditsiiid are darling and make me smile so much."

"The book we love so much, we got it twice!!!! I love all the Mina Learns Chinese books! I am Taiwanese and my parents moved my family to the states when I was in middle school. I never saw anything I could relate to growing up in the US. I can keep my Taiwanese culture alive with my kids and the books are great. Such interesting stories, colorful pages and engaging even for my teenage step kids! My younger two love it because they can see the items we eat and drink in the books they love! Thank you so much for creating books that can keep my mother tongue and language alive!"

"Our family loves bilingual books. Well okay tbrh when we read books, we don't read the English but have to translate to Cantonese. So when bilingual books are published like this one and many others that have come out recently, it saves me/my husband the need to code switch/translate the story. We can just read or at least attempt to read the Chinese."

"We have a couple of Katrina Liu’s books and we love them all! It’s great to see some wonderful bilingual books for children these days. The illustrations are beautiful and these books capture the attention of our 2 year old. What I love most is that my daughter can read them with her grandma who speaks to her mostly in Chinese. These books are treasured in our home!"

"Sharing another favorite bilingual book by @minalearnschinese - A Colorful World! This is the book I gift most to my Chinese-American friends with babies because of the real-life photos and vivid colors. C loves pointing out her favorite photos - animals and desserts. Apparently she likes red popcicles, but she likes purple popcicles more"

“When my daughter was a new crawler, she would crawl across the room to come sit with me to read the book when she heard me say 真無聊。我今天該做什麼呢? This is seriously her favorite book! She has the whole story memorized. Whenever I say anything from the book in real life, like 聽起來很好玩, she looks for the book and wants to read it together! (Which just happened) 😂 📖”

"We just read I Love Boba by @minalearnschinese and it's the cutest bilingual book ever! It celebrates🧋and its origin, 🇹🇼! We always talk about Taiwan, but today was the first time they actually saw an illustration of Taiwan. Actually seeing an illustration of 🇹🇼 made them so interested in learning about where our family came from and where daddy, 婆婆, 公公, 奶奶 and 阿祖 and so many more family members were born! We can't wait to take them back one day! For now, we will just drink boba and miss Taiwan like crazy!"

"My daughter has been learning Mandarin for the past 4 months and has been loving it. When I found these books by Katrina Liu I was elated. The fact that it’s written in English, Chinese and pinyin helps me, but what I love most is that her grandpa (Gong Gong) can read with her. She loves reading and learning new words and this enforces her learning. Gotta love that! The story is also cute and well written. I have all 3 of Katrina’s books and none disappoint!"

"Beautiful, kid-friendly book about emotions. Sweet family story. Great for Chinese learning. I love Katrina Liu's book. They have such a sweet storyline that all kids can relate to. I love that the book has pinyin which enables my daughter to read and pronounce the characters. This book talks about emotions which is such an important topic. The beautiful illustrations and dialogues help me in explaining the different emotions to my children. I appreciate that Katrina makes the books available in both Traditional and Simplified form. The characters and writings are easy to read. Such a wonderful Chinese-learning book. My daughter loves it a lot and she can't wait to collect more Mina books."

"This is my favorite of the three Mina books so far. Looking forward to collect more from this author. I love the educational and fun concept of the scavenger game to keep Mina busy. This book is perfect for young children. The illustration is really cute. Most importantly, i love the pinyin. It is very helpful for parents (like myself) who do not read Chinese. I began teaching my two year old to recognize Chinese characters. This book is a great resource. She points at characters that she has learned. I really really love the story in this book. It flows very well. I was very impressed with how thought out the story told and narrated. You must check it out! Highly recommend."

"I love this book so much! I purchased it for my children's grandpa. He was so touched and started to read with my children right away even though he does not know how to read in Chinese. The dialogue was so cute between the little girl and her grandfather. The author is so creative and her storyline is sweet and touching, including every day life occurrences, making it relatable to little kids. I was looking for Chinese learning books because I wanted to also teach my daughter Mandarin. I was so happy when I found Katrina's books. The text is easy to read and my daughter loves that it has Pinyin to help her pronounce the characters. Katrina's books are highly recommended and she even includes audio reading which is so helpful since I don't know much Mandarin myself. You won't be disappointed. I am such a fan! I have three of her books so far. Looking forward to her future works."

"I'm am Chinese American born in the US and unfortunately am unable to read Chinese characters. So trying to get my kids to read Chinese is hard especially if I can't read to them. There are very few books out there that include Pinyin and I love this series because I can actually read to my daughter. She loves reading about Mina's adventures and learning new words with mommy! Highly recommend any of Katrina's books for families like us!"
